Coltrane, you spoke clear and you explained your thoughts well on Taco Bell. Even thou those facts were not true, the way you said them was strong and confident enough for me to believe it. Your location choice could have been stronger, but it related to what you were talking about; Taco Bell causing you to make you have to use the bathroom. Next time don’t make information up and focus on the project.
Matt, you were by far one of the strongest speakers. You really managed to speak confidently about how you were fat before, but you loss a lot of the weight from dedication at the gym and you’re diet. You’re eye contact was strong and your posture was phenomenal. The only thing I could suggest is when you are speaking when you start to enunciate slower or emphasize on words, you can tell you are loosing your train of thought, but other than that excellent job.
Matt Fenton- I thought you hit mastery. I really liked watching your video and thought you did a good job speaking. I liked that you kept eye contact throughout. I also liked that you were really direct and gave good animation. It was fun watching because you kept me interested and also seemed like a expert.
Matt Fansler: I think Matt talked loud clear and confident. Although he did not make a personal connection to me since he was just talking about his team. He is dressed good for this I guess but sometimes he doesn’t give us eye contact, looking up to the sky. He didn’t give any pauses which was good and his knowledge on this team really seemed like he was an expert.
Ip: Ip talked loud clear and confident as well too. But before he started, his starting hook should’ve been something like I am going to be talking about why Michael Jordan is the. Best player to play in the game of basketball and I am going to do this by comparing him to to one of the best players now, Lebron James. This would’ve helped his speech and also making a personal connection to us. He seemed like an expert on the game of basketball, Michael Jordan, and lebron James since he compared these guys. Soo ip did good.
Ip- I thought you hit target. You were pretty fluid and I liked that. I thought you could have improved on making more that you are confident. Sometimes I can tell if you are not feeling it because I can see it but I think if you just remember to stay confident then you sound ten times smarter and better. I thought you did good job overall
Reyn talked well besides for one slip up were he did not know what to say. The main thing he needs to work on is your body language because you spoke well but your leg was shaking the entire time. You were also sitting down and I think that is in bad practice because you will be standing up which is a completely different body language.
Reyn- he is confident when he’s speaking, he enunciates, and has a lot of energy. Sometimes he will look around in space. He is making a lot of hand gestures but they are appropriate. He doesn’t make a connection to the audience.
Blaine- he is very confident but has the occasional “umm.” He speaks loud and clear and has energy. He looked around a couple times but not that much. He didnt make a connection to the audience.
Blaine: I thought Blaine’s presentation needs development. His presentation did not entirely make sense. He kept going on about his own personal trip to china. I could not tell what his knowledge was based off. If his presentation was on him or china. He needs improvement on his voice. He should talk louder and clearer. Also to have an appropriate background.
Blaine Tonaki: I thought that his speech was quite confusing. I did not know exactly what he was supposed to be the expert of. He was just talking about some trip he took to china. Then he discussed the trip and what he found most exciting etc. he didn’t really key in on one certain area or thing. He was a little slouched and the background was weird. He was in the green room but he didn’t have the green screen fully covering the background so it was green and then had other objects etc..
Isaiah-
You spoke well and had good confidence. you did not stop or studer for how much you were talking. But you did almost go over board on the hand movements.
Isaiah browning did very good on his expert video. If I were to critique him off of the rubric I’d say he did perfect. Nothing from the video seems to show he is nervous at all. One thing I really liked was his energy and positivity he put into the video.
The second video I watched was of Matt Fansler. Matt knew his topic very well. Off of the rubric something’s he could have worked on is being a little more clear in his speaking and having little bit more energy.
Isaiah P:
Target to mastery.
Confidence was high and steady.
Broke confidence shortly rarely.
Great clear enunciation.
Doesn’t connect with audience enough.
Has great energy.
A little too much hand gestures and movement which made it seem a little disrespectful.
Eye contact drifts off sometimes but usually good.
Not too strong of an ending.
Great speech.
IP: First hits his target on his eye contact and volume. I was able to hear him very clearly. First thing is his video should be longer then two min. After watching the video i was getting a sense what he was saying wasent true but his own opinions. Such as when he said Jordan was more clutch. That is a very broad phrase. It is not fact. I think next time he could’ve added a personal connection with what he was saying. To talk about his basketball skills.
Bradley S:
Target
Confident but a little quivery.
Was consistent with confidence the whole time but confidence was not high enough to look professional.
Hand movements created powerful look.
Poor eye contact.
Some rare hand fidgeting.
Connects with audience fairly.
Interested and intrigued me.
Ending was cut short?’
Good job
Kai, you spoke really well. Yow may want to slow your words down just a bit also the posture that your in conveys that you’re distancing yourself from the viewer Ex. placing your legs in front as a barrier indicative of nervousness so posture could be revised. Head is a little bit too bobbing and actually blinks after saying a couple words so may want to work on that. Voice varies well but at times sounds a little bit whiny or uncontrolled. Far above the norm though in vocal skills and a very good speech.
Kai is extremely good at making a speech. When I was watching his clip it made it sound that he knew everything he was talking about. It made me feel that you could ask him any question and he would know exactly how to respond. He seemed confident and enthusiastic in his tone of voice. Kai seemed really passionate on his topic and made it very believable. I could hear him loud and very clear.
Kai did a very good job because he was very confident with what he was saying. I liked his tone of voice and his pronunciation of the words. He would be mastery because he seemed well prepared with what he was going to say. He seemed passionate in what the topic was. He maintained eye contact. The only thing that he probably could have changed was the way that he was sitting. He could have sat up and put his legs down to seem more like an expert.
Kai:
Very passionate about his idea. Had a couple of hand gestures and nodded his head sometimes when he finished his sentences which is okay. He had very minimal mistakes when he spoke such as speaking words longer than it should be. Had good grammar when he spoke and good sentence structure. He looked very comfortable and relaxed by his body position and how smooth he spoke to the camera.
Kai Wilding: He had really good fluency throughout his speech, with a few stumbles here and there but otherwise great. I thought that the position he was sitting in was a little distracting and it would have been nicer if his legs were down not all bunched up. It also kind of covered his face in a way. Sounded and looked like he knew exactly what he was talking about and was very good.
Matt, You speak deliberately and very well. you look down occasionally but utilize pauses well. You fidget a little bit but overall sound very confident and sell your idea well. sounds well rehearsed but also from the heart so i would say that you are at a level of mastery. Seriously, well done
I felt that Caelin hit the target level because she was really into in what to she was talking about. It made everything she was saying so convincible. She was looking straight at the camera the entire time and was respectful to everything that she was saying. There were no hurt feelings and I felt that she used the correct amount of gestures and I heard her loud and clear.
Matt fenton
Matt’s presentation was the best one I’ve seen yet! He put himself in a very good place about being confident and knowing that if anything came to mind, just say it.
Matt Fenton-
I think that his speech was very well done because he was very confident on what he was speaking about the words just seemed to flow out of his mouth. His hands were a positive and a negative they were distracting but they also put emotion and heart into his speech. I feel if he didn’t make them all over the place then he would have been better. He is very upbeat and he wants to take about his topic he is alive and ready to go.
Matthew Fenton- He sounded like a real salesman like chuck Norris selling the total gym. Regardless if the personal connection is true it gave it a grounded feel after he said it.
Austin:
His speech is very clear and smooth. He didn’t constantly pause or stutter when he talked and had very good sentence structure when he spoke. His idea seemed convincing and spoke only about that idea. His eye contact could of been better because sometimes he looked to the side and not at the camera. He had different levels of volume when he spoke which made his idea sound even better.
Noah F-
I thought that he really could have put more emotion into his speaking. He was just sitting there just with a blank face and no emotion and spark. He knew his information, but he need to put emotion into his speaking and he also need to speak louder.
Krislyn- Sounded like she had a personal connection to her topic. She did not really have to think about what she is saying she just went with the flow.
Koltrane: I thought koltrane had a very interesting topic, surprisingly it was actually good besides the fact that its shot in a bathroom. The thing koltrane has is the fact that he can speak very confidently and portray information, and it is so easy to understand. He is a very good speaker. The one thing I have for him is just to state some more facts, because he mainly runs on options.
Trevor
i think that he did a good job speaking. the only thing that was off to me was how his tone of voice changed. At the beginning of his sentences he would be very loud and the get quieter through the sentences, but when the next sentence came he did the same thing to me that was kinda weird. you could definably see that he was enthusiastic about his speech. he was not fidgeting and was staling on topic. there was one point that he was at a loss of words but he recovered smoothly and did a good job with it.
Trevor: I thought Trevor was very good at speaking, he had good movements and his words flowed well. One thing that was off was the way he would say something very loud but than in another word he would say it way more lighter. In terms of everything he did an overall good job, i think that he could only get better, he doesn’t have any big problems.
Trevor did an excellent job with his video about sandwich making. I would say that he was around mastery. He did not seem nervous at all or did not show it. He spoke clearly and used good hand motions. I think he really knew what he was talking about and showed it well. He explained how to make the sandwich and why it was very good. He had good eye contact too. He was not fidgeting and seemed very positive.
Trevor’s presentation was very good. I think that he is very good at improv and is very good at coming up with information quickly. In his performance I noticed that he is very good at speaking loudly and clearly.
Nikki
i think that she did a good job specking but she kept looking up and to the side making it look like she was distracted. another thing that she had a problem with was fidgeting she was playing with her hands and also kicking her feet. I think that other wise she did a very good job on he speech, she spoke clearly and did not repeat her topics. I also like how she used a personal connection with her speech that was good. she also kinds sounded robotic at some points.
