Today in class we worked on beginning our brochure in which we would be handing out at our science fair like type of thing we will be doing in the future. To begin this we added pictures etc then took awhile to think of some type of slogan that we could put on the front of the brochure to make the audience want to read it. Another task that we were working on was researching Aquaponics and groups that practice sustainability in Hawaii. This would be so that we could contact them and talk to them about our project and ask maybe if they would like to contribute or help us out. The last thing we did today was working on our video. We took a bunch of different shots around campus to use in our final Kickstarter video.

My groups main goal is to finish the video, so that was what we did most of the time. I helped to film the outdoor aquaponics system and the one in weinberg. We filmed our group working on the computer and discussing. I helped edit and import some of the videos that we took. We spent the rest of the time answering quesstions with the teachers from skype. The next period that we have for aquaponics will be used mostly for the video, filming, and editing. We will also start to work more on our speech that we will be giving for the Shark Tank. We have most of the compnents for the science fair setup so we will just have to find a way to put it together.

Today in class we worked a lot on our video for our kick starter video. We did a lot of filming and editing. The hardest parts were the filming itself and trying to get everything perfect. We also started to work on our pitch. We got the important parts of our project and tried to expand on them. As a team we also got to Skype with some teachers and it was a good experience to have to answer questions on the spot and listen to their feedback on how they felt about our project. Finally Tyler and Emma started the brochure. It was hard not putting too much information so it didn’t look crowded but putting enough information that we could get the point across.

Today we accomplished a lot as a group. We continued working on our kick starter video which is coming along nicely. We also were asked to join a Skype call with mr. Hines who is in San Diego to promote different learning styles and our aquaponics project. That toke up most of our time but we still did a lot of filming. For the first portion of the class me and Kainoa looked at kick starter videos and toke notes on what we should do, we also looked for good background music to the video. We also went to kanekos aquaponics system and shot there.

On friday, we got a lot of work done. The first thing we did was film part of the project and we went to wienberg after and worked on editing it. The video is coming together and looking good. After that, I started to make the brochure. I am trying to make the brochure informational and persuasive, without it being to wordy and boring. I am also trying to make it so it grabs the readers attention, I am doing that with starting it off with a slogan that I came up with. The last thing we did was talk to some people from San Diego about our aquaponics kit. This was very exciting for us because it is so fun to see that people are interested in our kits
